This phone is not meant for US consumers. I have t mobile and I bought this phone for my aunt who is in my plan. When I put the sim card in this phone it will do everything but give you 4g. The reason it will not give you 4g is because it's not meant to be used in United States.
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. Mine is perfect. When you load the phone for the first time it gives you the option to change from spanish to english. I loved how it could communicate with my own phone after I downloaded an app on my old phone to transfer everything from my old phone to the new one. I had even written down the apps I had figuring I would have to download them all again but I didn't have to yay!!! Someone mentioned they didn't get a manual. I did but I don't need a manual. If you have had an android before you should be able to operate this without a manual. I was pleasantly surprised to get a hands free device with my new phone and my sim card went in the same way as my other phone so I had no issues there. All and all a great phone for the price. I also bought a hard case for it so I won't break the screen on this one. Hopefully people will see my review. I really like this phone.Mine looks used, not brand new. So obvious, lots of finger prints already both front and back. This is a good looking phone nice display easy to use with nice graphics and storage however I took the phone to the three major carriers and none of them were able to activate it even though it was labeled as unlocked. On the box and in the information pamphlet indicated that the phone would only accept a SIM card in India. Why they are selling it here in the states is confusing but I was able to get a refund in a promt manner. If you want a phone that is easy to use, clear sound, beautiful pictures , stylish AND tough, great battery life and is AFFORDABLE, this is the phone for you. When my Galaxy J3 finally threw in the towel, I tried some new fangled phones, off brands promising better! Faster! Greater! Bigger!! They weren't. They blacked out, quit working for no reason, sounded bad, wouldn't charge, ... so I did what I should have done in the first place... I purchased another Samsung Galaxy Phone. I upgraded my J3 (which I dropped more times than I can remember, and in water at least 30 times???? before it finally developed a glitch????) to this. NOTHING beats a Samsung Galaxy phone. They're easy to use, good cameras, excellent screen area , clear, sharp, vibrant. And tough enough. I'm hard on phones. Galaxy can take it. This is the first time I've tried an international version, and with double Sim capabilities. I turned this phone on , set it on English, put in my ATamp;T pre paid Sim card i had used in two of the POS phones, and that was it .. no problems at all. This Galaxy phone was well worth the money, as was my Galaxy.phone before it. It has everything that I need and then some. And at an awesome price. I dont live on my phone like a lot of folks do. But I want to be able to count on it when I need to. I wasted somewhere between four and six hundred dollars on crappie POS phones(and one with a service plan I could never quite use). They promise everything and delivered nothing. I will not make that mistake again.I had already purchased this phone and was very happy with it and would have given it 4 stars (camera is just OK) but I dropped it and the glass was shattered. I clicked on the "buy it again" button on my order page expecting to get the same phone. I did not. It looked the same but there were important differences. The first clue that something was wrong was the adapters in the box which were not compatible with any electrical outlet I have. Next, after transferring all my data I noticed several unusual things. Any app that spoke had a british accent (which I didn't mind, but seemed odd). My weather app is set to 24 hour time and no matter how often I change it to 12 hour, it always reverts back to 24 hour. The dates on my email are listed as day/month/year so that March 20th would read 20/3/20. I then discovered an insert in the instructions informing me that the phone was from India and should be activated with a sim card issued in India. If I used a sim issued from another region the phone might not function properly. I live in Pennsylvania and that is where my sim card was issued. I called customer service, explained the situation and they sent me a new phone, assuring me that my experience was a mistake that would not happen again. My 2nd new phone came, again with the weird adapters and sure enough, a card that said the phone was an Indian phone to be activated with a sim card issued in India. That phone is also going back and I have ordered a completely different phone. Read the phone description carefully before purchasing. If it says International phone, do not order it!
Per the box, this phone was manufactured for India. I live in the SE United States. The only signal we could receive was the Edge network. It barely worked in wifi, dropped calls, slow connection...Why sell a phone if you're not 100% certain it will work in the area in which it's sold? I returned it and paid a little extra for a sure thing from my mobile providerFor the price is an excellent device. I bought it for my father and he just loved. The fact that it’s DS makes it even more suitable for the reality of some countries overseas. It is also unlocked. The capacity plus the memory card gives plenty of space to have pictures, conversations and all of the things you may want to store. The face recognition set up is the thing that I found difficult. It worked very well on my face but for some reason on my father’s face wasn’t working. I just gave up on that. But we were able to add the finger print and you can add more than one.
